The Plant Factory not only implements projects to create modern agricultural production facilities, but also is actively developing its own premium green crops. In 2020, our company established a pilot complex of vertical farms. This project was initiated with the aim of testing high-pressure aeroponics as the basis for a plant nutrition system within vertical farming. The effective growing area at the site was about 100m2. Following a series of tests, the proposed solution demonstrated outstanding results and PFT began to design its own aeroponics production facility.
The project design and the search for a location were completed by September 2020. The estimated capacity is up to 3 tons of finished products per month with an effective growing area of more than 250m2. A 4-tier vertical farm with an aeroponic plant nutrition system was adopted as the basic technology.
Land preparation and utility infrastructure was completed in November 2020. At the end of February 2021, construction of the processing shop was fully completed. To date, the placement, installation and setting up of equipment and internal utilities is underway. The first phase of the project (a growing area of about 130m2) was launched in the spring of 2021. The project is expected to be fully completed by October of 2021.
